I came across the web site of Alex Kwa while reading the ‘what’s in my bag’ of a photographer who shoots with cheap film cameras.
Alex’s site has a ‘Start here’ menu tab that begins with this statement, which I think is correct from my own experience. But I am not obsessive, and have settled for ‘sufficiently good’ for many things. Here is Alex’s statement:
A common misconception of minimalists is that they dislike things. People think that minimalists want to own almost nothing and that the point of minimalism is to get rid of all material possessions. On the contrary, I believe that minimalists like things more than non-minimalists.
